INFINITUM has been recognised for its world-class green credentials in the 2023 International Property Awards by being named winners in the Best Sustainable Residential Development category, while the Spanish resort has also been nominated for an impressive seven World Golf Awards.
The renowned Costa Dorada venue has been selected by a prestigious panel of experts as a winner in the European Property Awards Sponsored by LAUFEN, part of the International Property Awards, in the category of Sustainable Residential Development in Spain.
INFINITUM is also in the running for the titles of World’s Best Golf Real Estate Venue and World’s Best Eco-Friendly Golf Facility, while in the continental categories, the resort has been nominated Europe’s Best Real Estate Golf Venue and Europe’s Best Golf Venue.
All three golf courses are up for awards, with both 18-hole courses – the Lakes and the Hills – in contention to be crowned Spain’s Best Golf Course. Meanwhile, the Ruins course is among the nominees for the World’s Best 9-Hole Course.
In addition, INFINITUM’s famous Beach Club – which comprises ten swimming pools and a trio of exquisite restaurants: Flamma Beach Foodhouse, Pura and Gusto – has been nominated in the 2023 World Travel Awards for Europe’s Best Beach Club.
Following the successful launch of 150 luxurious coastal homes – designed to blend effortlessly into the Catalan countryside – the resort is preparing to welcome hundreds of new residents as the second phase of their ambitious real estate project begins construction.
Now the resort is a strong contender to follow up on that success with recognition as the World’s – and Europe’s – Best Real Estate Golf Venue, as well as World’s Best Eco Friendly Golf Facility, at the 10th annual World Golf Awards. The former categories celebrate luxury properties and world-class amenities, while the latter is awarded to the golf venue that has shown superlative commitment to sustainability.
The Greg Norman-designed Lakes course, which weaves through Sequia Major wetlands, is among the nominees for Spain’s Best Golf Course. The sweeping par 72 hosted last year’s ISPS Handa Championship in Spain on the DP World Tour, where local hero Pablo Larrazábal emerged victorious. It will face major competition from the adjacent Hills course, an acclaimed layout masterminded by Alfonso Viador, which regularly stages the DP World Tour Qualifying School Final Stage along with the Lakes.
Norman is also the designer behind the Ruins layout, which is among the favourites to win in the World’s Best Nine-Hole Course category. Named for the authentic Roman remains the fairways pass, the Ruins has a reputation as one of the world’s most challenging and dynamic short courses.
Joaquín Mora Bertrán, INFINITUM’s Director of Golf, said: “Our selection as a winner for Best Sustainable Residential Development in the International Property Awards, along with the recently announced nominations in the World Golf Awards and World Travel Awards, is very exciting news for INFINITUM and recognition of the world-class offering we provide across golf, lifestyle and real estate.
“We are also committed to Sustainability across all elements of the INFINITUM project so to receive such prestigious validation of those green commitments is a huge boost and confirms that we are on the right track as one of Europe’s most sustainable resorts.”
INFINITUM is no stranger to success at the World Golf Awards, being crowned Europe’s Best Golf Venue for three consecutive years. Meanwhile, INFINITUM Beach Club was named Europe’s Leading Beach Club at partner event the World Travel Awards last year.
