Gloria Hotels & Resorts is set to welcome amateurs from across the globe after being selected to play host to the final of the world’s largest corporate golf event.
Held throughout the year, the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup – a worldwide event that promotes Turkish hospitality – sees 8,000 players compete in 117 qualifying tournaments across 73 different countries.
The top players from each qualifying event will then be flown business class to compete in the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup Grand Final, which will this year be held at Gloria Golf Club, Belek, in December.
Located just 30km away from Antalya International Airport, Gloria Hotels & Resorts is a five-star destination set across 212 hectares where the Mediterranean and Tauras mountain range meet. The resort features three hotels, Gloria Golf Resort, Gloria Verde Resort and Gloria Serenity Resort – with the latter having recently reopened following an extensive multi-million-euro upgrade and redesign.
At the forefront of golf in Turkey, Gloria is a fitting place to play all year round, with three world-class courses: the 18-hole championship layouts, the Old Course and New Course, as well as the nine-hole Verde Course. Combined with the practice facilities, which include the pioneering Gloria Golf Training Academy, modern clubhouse and pro shop, Gloria forms the largest and most complete golf resort in Turkey.
Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup Grand Final players will experience both the resort’s championship courses during two practice rounds, before competing in a competitive round on each course later in the week.
Now in its eighth year, the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup was first held in 2013 alongside the DP World Tour’s Turkish Airlines Open. Although the DP World Tour hasn’t returned to Turkey since 2019, December’s event will mark the second successive year the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup Grand Final has taken place at Gloria Golf Club since the Covid-19 pandemic.
David Clare, director of golf at Gloria Golf Club, said: “We are proud to be working closely with Turkish Airlines to host the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup Grand Final for a second successive year.
“Our two championship golf courses have hosted golf’s biggest stars over the years – including the Legends Tour Q School as recently as January and numerous DP World Tour events – and we cannot wait to welcome so many competitors for this magnificent event.
“With an array of exceptional five-star accommodation and gastronomy options – including a number of restaurants drawing inspiration from Anatolian cuisine – Gloria Hotels & Resorts is the perfect location to showcase Turkish hospitality to visitors across the world.”
A short drive from Antalya International Airport, Gloria guests are spoilt for choice in accommodation, with three luxurious five-star resorts on the beach: Gloria Golf Resort, Gloria Verde Resort and Gloria Serenity Resort.
