INFINITUM, the 45-hole golf, leisure and real estate destination on Spain’s picturesque Costa Dorada, is preparing to host DP World Tour Qualifying School Final Stage for the sixth successive year.
Taking place from November 8-13, the tournament will mark the first time that the newly upgraded Lakes course has welcomed stars for competitive action following an €800,000 renovation this year. The Greg Norman-designed layout was elevated to new heights with pristine new Zoysia grass and reimagined bunkering that promises to pose all-new challenges for hopefuls.
A field stacked with multiple DP World Tour stars, including former Ryder Cup player – and returning Vice Captain for next year’s contest in the US – Edoardo Molinari will be joined by some of the sport’s brightest young stars for a gruelling six-round marathon with potentially career-defining stakes.
Though usually accessible to players of all skill levels, the Spanish resort’s two 18-hole courses are a stern test in tournament conditions and guarantee a gripping week of golf. The field will play four alternating rounds – two each on the Hills and Lakes courses – before the cut, after which surviving players will battle it out across two final rounds on the Lakes course. Only the leading 25 players plus ties will earn a priceless DP World Tour card for next season.
Following the Lakes’ renovation, similarly transformative work on the Hills course is set to commence shortly after the conclusion of Q-School, when a composite course with the nine-hole Ruins (also designed by Norman) plus the front nine of the Hills course will be open for play.
European Golf Design – led by Dave Sampson, designer of the Marco Simone course in Rome for the 2023 Ryder Cup – will begin refurbishment work in December 2024 and continue into early 2026.
Joaquín Mora Bertrán, Deputy General Manager of Golf, Beach Club and F&B at INFINITUM, said: “It is a pleasure to welcome the DP World Tour back to host Qualifying School Final Stage here for the sixth year in a row and we’re excited to get another thrilling week of golf underway.
“While our courses are designed to be accessible for novices and Major winners alike, make no mistake – under tournament conditions, they are a serious challenge even for seasoned professionals. Players will have to be at their best to earn a DP World Tour card. We can’t wait to see who rises to the challenge!”
Qualifying School Final Stage has played a strong role in INFINITUM’s meteoric rise to becoming one of Europe’s leading training hubs since opening in 2008. Numerous national golfing federations stage their winter training camps there for elite amateurs, including the Swiss and Finnish Federations.
Meanwhile, the renowned venue will also play host to Scandinavia’s premier professional golf tour, the ECCO Tour, in February and March of 2025 – hosting three counting events across two weeks.
As well as 45 holes, two clubhouses and extensive practice facilities, the Catalan complex is home to an award-winning Beach Club and several acclaimed restaurants.
The resort also boasts a fast-growing real estate portfolio, with a broad range of villas and multi-family homes available to purchase; at the 2024 International Property Awards, INFINITUM won three honours, including prestigious Five Star recognition in the Landscape Architecture and Residential Development category.
