TMRW Sports, which is focused on building progressive approaches to sports, media, and entertainment, has announced the addition of two key senior executives: Andrew Macaulay, Topgolf CTO, will become TMRW Sports’ Chief Technology Officer; and Katy Chambers Mollica, veteran sports sales and marketing executive, has joined as Head of Global Partnerships. The announcement was made by Mike McCarley, founder and CEO of TMRW Sports. McCarley and co-founders Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy formed TMRW Sports and announced the company’s first project, TGL, following nearly two years of development.
“We are fortunate to add two well-respected, strategic leaders as we continue to build a best-in-class company blending sports and technology to create new approaches to entertainment,” said McCarley. “Andrew has spent the last decade as an important leader inside golf’s technology evolution as CTO for Topgolf. Golf participation has evolved to a point where more golf is now played away from a traditional golf course in some places in the world and Andrew has been on the leading edge of the technology that has accelerated this evolution in participation. Katy has a strong track record as a solutions-oriented partner creating meaningful and impactful partnerships with decades of success for Turner Sports, NCAA, and Olympics.”
Andrew Macaulay: Chief Technology Officer, TMRW Sports
Before joining TMRW Sports, Macaulay served as Chief Technology Officer for Topgolf Entertainment Group, where he led the development of all their innovative ways to experience and modernize the game of golf – in-person, virtually and digitally. As a self-proclaimed golf lover, Macaulay led the transformation of how new audiences were introduced to golf through Topgolf and Toptracer technology, considered the most-used and most-trusted advanced ball-tracing technology. It was the first of its kind to be introduced in golf and revolutionized the way viewers experience the game while watching golf coverage, as well as at select Topgolf venues and driving ranges globally. Topgolf tech, under Macaulay’s leadership, enabled more than six billion golf balls to be hit in 2022 across venues, Toptracer Ranges and online/virtually. Topgolf acquired Toptracer in 2016 and now powers more than 750 driving ranges in 31 countries.
Macaulay will lead the development and execution of TRMW Sports’ strategy, execution, and approach for all technology. He will serve as a liaison between TMRW Sports/TGL and the PGA TOUR corporate partnership leaders, broadcast partners and media planning teams, as well as lead the technology strategy for TGL including fan experience and venue operations.
Prior to Topgolf, Macaulay spent 20 years in executive roles across pioneering telecommunications companies. He was the CIO at WesTower Communications, a leader in the cell tower construction and maintenance business; the CIO at Clearwire Communications, the company that built the first-ever 4G wireless network in the US; and SVP at Level 3 Communications, which built a revolutionary 16k mile fiber network across the continental U.S.
Macaulay earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Operations Research from the University of Leeds in England, and an MBA from Baylor University in Texas. Originally from the U.K., he has lived in the U.S. for more than 30 years.
Katy Mollica, Head of Global Partnerships, TMRW Sports
Before joining TMRW Sports, Mollica served as Head of Partnership Sales for U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Properties where she led sales efforts for the LA 2028 and Team USA properties as part of Legends’ LA28 sponsorship representation. Previously, Mollica spent more than 12 years at Turner Broadcasting where she held various marketing and sales leadership roles, most recently as Turner Sports’ Vice President of NCAA Partnerships. Her experience spans revenue generation, client services, property management, and strategic marketing solutions.
At TMRW Sports, Mollica oversees building the commercial business inclusive of partnership strategy, sponsorship sales and account management, creating unique partnership opportunities, and working collaboratively with partners to elevate engagement with sports’ avid and emerging new audiences. As part of this role, Mollica will lead TMRW Sports’ New York office.
A graduate of Boston College, Mollica and her family live in New York.
