The University of St Andrews has formed a new partnership with internationally renowned golf brand PING, who will be the Official Golf Kit Partner of the University’s Golf Programme – Saints Golf – for the next three years.
Starting this coming academic year (2023-2024) and running through to 2026, PING will be supplying golf apparel and equipment to the University, with all Saints Golf teams and athletes, including the national championship winning performance squad, competing in PING’s technical golf clothing.
Through the partnership, the new University of St Andrews PING golf range will also be available to students, staff, alumni, and supporters through the University’s Retail Store.
PING is a family-owned golf manufacturer, founded in 1959 by Karsten Solheim in the garage of his Redwood City home in California, USA. The PING brand, synonymous with innovation, performance, quality and service, has a worldwide reputation for designing and manufacturing industry-leading, custom-fit golf equipment, while also being a highly regarded golf apparel brand.
University of St Andrews Director of Golf, Ian Muir, said: “We are delighted to be strengthening our relationship with PING through a new multi-year kit partnership.
“To be supported by a globally renowned brand such as PING, who are at the forefront of golf technology, will be a major factor in helping us realise our vision to provide a comprehensive and world-renowned golf programme at St Andrews that complements our students’ world-leading academic education.”
Dave Fanning, PING Europe Marketing Director, said: “We are very proud to extend our support to the University of St Andrews with PING apparel for 2023 through to 2026. Given PING’s strong association with collegiate golf in the US, it makes a perfect fit for us to support such a prestigious University here in the UK, and even more special that it is at the home of golf.
“We have worked with the University’s performance team since 2017 and we are excited to expand our relationship with the golfers and play a part in their future success.”
