Yas Links, the venue for the DP World Tour’s Abu Dhabi Championship, in partnership with the W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island, has been featured in the latest Golf World Top 100 World Resorts ranking list for 2023.
The first true links course in the Middle East, the 18-hole layout at Yas Links is combined with the iconic W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island hotel to make up the Yas Links Resort, Abu Dhabi, which has placed as a new entry in Golf World’s latest Top 100 World Resorts ranking list at #50. This also positions Yas Links Resort as the #1 resort in Abu Dhabi and the #2 resort in the UAE.
Karl Whitehead, Cluster Club Manager for Viya Golf, operator of Yas Links, said: “We’re pleased to be featured as a new entry into one of the game’s most significant rankings lists. Our partnership with the W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island hotel enables golfers from around the world to experience our professional tournament-level golf course, and the #1 golf course in the Middle East, while enjoying a memorable stay on Yas Island.
“Yas Links is one of the world’s best golf destinations, and we’re continuing to look for ways to improve our offering. Having played host to the DP World Tour’s Abu Dhabi Championship since 2022, we’re excited to kick off the new DP World Tour play-offs in November with our new schedule spot,” he added.
Set on the water’s edge with dramatic views of the Arabian Gulf and the excitement of Yas Island, the 18-hole championship course at Yas Links Abu Dhabi was designed by Kyle Phillips and boasts immaculate conditioning with green-like fairways and rolling hills, while the 9-hole par-3 course and practice facilities are ideal for golfers of all abilities.
W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island hotel, part of Marriot International, Inc. is located just across the road from Yas Links, also overlooking the pristine gulf. The five-star hotel is one-of-a-kind due to its proximity to the world-famous Abu Dhabi Formula 1 racetrack – the only hotel in the world to be built on a Formula 1 track. The hotel has exclusive access to the racetrack so guests can enjoy the roaring sounds of the cars on one side, and the tranquil marina setting on the other.
Guests will also find a state-of-the-art gym, pool, and sun deck within the property, all intertwined by nods to Abu Dhabi’s history and incredible architectural designs. After a morning round of golf, guests can visit nearby attractions such as the Yas Marina, Warner Brothers Studios, or even Ferrari World.
Yas Links is set to host the Abu Dhabi Championship in November, the first of a new two-part play-off series on the DP World Tour, concluding with the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai. The event will feature the top 70 players on the Race to Dubai rankings, with the top 50 progressing to the Tour Championship.
